Underwood Road, Paisley

This project involved the refurbishment of several industrial units across Renfrewshire Council's Underwood Road site, which houses their recycling depot and transport/ building/ environmental service teams amongst other divisions.

As part of the refurbishment works, the older units on site, which has been council-operated for almost 100 years, were overclad/ reclad and their interiors upgraded.

New facilities included a two-storey welfare/ office block and a large 600 square metre steel-framed salt barn to store road salt.

Lack of existing information about the buildings and underground site infrastructure made this project challenging from both a design and construction point of view, requiring regular time on site throughout the construction programme.
