GAP Homes, Stirling

We carried out the structural and civil engineering design of this terraced row of flats. The block provides four one-bed homes for young care leavers and one two-bed home for a care worker.
The buildings are constructed from timber kit and clad in masonry. The difficult ground conditions and sloping site required vibro compaction to stabilise the ground prior to constructing a more traditional strip foundation solution with suspended ground floor. Retaining walls were required at the level changes. Surface water was dealt with through an on-site soakaway and foul water connects to the public sewer.

We worked with O’Donnell Brown on this one.
